Door County’s parks offers visitors a truly remarkable opportunity to experience the county’s natural environment. Five state parks, nineteen county parks provide 1000’s of acres of parkland to enjoy. Beaches, bluffs, scenic vistas, hiking and bike trails, campgrounds, boat launching facilities, picnic areas, lighthouses, golf courses, and Frisbee golf courses can be found in all our parks.

Our unique geology along the Niagara Escarpment and our positioning between the Bay of Green Bay and deep cool waters of Lake Michigan have created rare micro climates that are home to an unusually large number of rare plants, flowers and birds. Our public lands are protected by the Nature Conservancy, Door County Land Trust, Ridges Sanctuary and Crossroads at Big Creek.

The village of Ephraim recreates the traditions of early Norwegians celebrating the beginning of summer. A signature Fyr Bal event evening bonfires represent the burning of the Winter witch and usher in the long days of summer.

Fall Fest

One of the largest weekend celebrations on the Peninsula! A parade, arts & crafts fair, live entertainment and children’s activities makes this a ‘Must do” weekend. An astonishing 10,000 ping pong balls are released on Sunday afternoon with a one in ten chance of winning a prize.

  1. The Alibi marina in Fish Creek features 121 seasonal berths and 24 transient slips. Cable TV and wireless internet are available. Alibi marina gives boaters a convenient starting point from which to discover a very charming Door County village.

  2. Sister Bay marina now has 40 transient slips and was named best marina in Door County by Door County magazine. This marina has 100 seasonal slips and 10 commercial slips. Boats up to 80’ and 7’ drafts can be accommodated.

    Orchards & Farm Markets of Door County

    You can typically expect to see cherry blossoms during the middle to the end of May. The crop usually ripens mid-July through the end of July. Door County is the fourth largest cherry producing region in the nation. Cherries have been grown in the county since the late 1800’s. Soil and weather conditions, warm days and cool nights, influenced by Lake Michigan and Green Bay, have created an ideal situation for growing these delicious fruits. Today with around 2,000 acres of cherry orchards and another 500 acres of apple orchards, Door County is filled with blossoms in the spring and is richly decorated with the delicious fruits in the late summer and fall. According to the Wisconsin Cherry growers Association, Door County’s typical cherry crop per year is 12 Million Pounds!

    Drive In Theatre

    Skyway first opened it’s gate July 26th, 1950. Movies have lit up the screen every summer since opening, making it the second longest continuously running drive-in here in Wisconsin! Today it’s run in much the same manner as the 1950’s.
